Why quizzing yourself beats re-reading
Re-reading your notes feels productive, but it mostly builds familiarity, not recall. Retrieval practice — actively pulling an answer from memory — is one of the most reliable ways to make knowledge stick before an exam.
Scholarly turns your own material into that retrieval practice automatically. Instead of writing questions by hand, you upload what you already study from and get a quiz built around the concepts that actually matter for your test.
Every wrong answer comes with an explanation grounded in your source, so a quiz is never a dead end. You learn the concept on the spot, the difficulty adapts to your progress, and you walk into the exam knowing exactly where you stand.
Every tool here is a purpose-built AI agent
Scholarly doesn't just call a model once. Each feature is run by an autonomous AI agent that reads your material, reasons across multiple models, and can research the web and run code — then hands back a finished, cited artifact.
Multiple models
Agents route each step to the model that does it best, instead of relying on a single one.
Live web research
When your sources aren't enough, agents search the web and cite what they find.
Runs code in a sandbox
Each agent gets its own sandbox to compute, transform data, and build your artifact.
Grounded in your sources
Every output is built from the PDFs, notes, and lectures you upload — not guesswork.
Frequently asked questions
What can I generate a quiz from?
Any material you upload — PDFs, lecture notes, flashcard decks, slides, or pasted text. Scholarly reads your source and writes questions grounded in it. For PDFs, you can even pick the exact page range to build the quiz from.
What types of questions does it create?
Multiple choice, fill-in-the-blank, and short response. AI picks the best format for each concept so you practice the way the exam will actually test you.
How does the adaptive difficulty work?
Questions get harder as you answer correctly and easier when you struggle, so the quiz focuses your time on the topics you haven't mastered yet.
Do I get explanations for wrong answers?
Yes. Every answer comes with an AI explanation of the underlying concept — not just the correct option — and you can even have it read aloud.
Can I share quizzes with classmates?
Yes. You can share a quiz with a link or export it, so your study group can practice with the same questions.
Is it free to use?
You can start generating quizzes for free with no credit card. Upgrade any time for higher limits and unlimited practice across all your material.
