Honest about the limits
So you know exactly what to expect before you generate.
No charts or pivot tables
It generates tables, formulas, and structured sheets — but it doesn't auto-create charts, graphs, or pivot tables. You can add those yourself in Excel.
Text-searchable PDFs only
It can't extract data from images, handwriting, or scanned PDFs. Use text-based files for accurate results.
The agent decides the structure
You can steer it with custom instructions, but you can't pre-specify exact column names or formulas — the AI plans the layout for you.
No live data or real-time collaboration
It won't merge with external databases or live data sources, and it doesn't support real-time shared generation. Very large files (100+ pages) may exceed the processing timeout.

Does it generate a real Excel file?
Yes. You get a true, editable .xlsx workbook — not a CSV, not an HTML table, and not a screenshot. It opens directly in Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, or Apple Numbers, with multiple sheets, frozen header rows, and working formulas already in place.
What files can I upload?
PDFs, Word documents (.docx), PowerPoint slides (.pptx), Excel spreadsheets (.xlsx), text files (.txt and .md), and Google Drive files via OAuth. You can also paste a website URL or just type a topic prompt with no file at all. You can combine up to 3 sources in a single request.
Can I generate a workbook without uploading anything?
Yes. Type a topic prompt and the AI builds a structured workbook from scratch — same multiple sheets, headers, and formulas as a file-based one. A source file just makes the data more specific to your material.
What workbook styles can I choose?
Four: Data Workbook (clean source tables with a summary and formulas), Study Tracker (concepts with progress and review-date columns), Comparison Matrix (side-by-side columns), and Review Planner (a prioritized task list with deadlines). Each style decides the sheets, columns, and layout.
How many sheets will my workbook have?
Usually one to six or more, depending on how much source material you provide and which style you pick. Multi-sheet workbooks also get an overview or index sheet so you can navigate them easily.
Is the data made up, or pulled from my sources?
Pulled from your sources. The AI extracts the actual content from your uploads — sheet names, column headers, and row data are all grounded in your material. It does not invent numbers or facts that aren't in what you provided.
Can it read scanned PDFs or handwriting?
No. It works with text-searchable PDFs and documents — it can't extract data from images, handwriting, or scanned pages. For the most accurate workbook, upload text-based files. Very large files (100+ pages) may also exceed the processing timeout.
Can I specify the exact columns and formulas?
Not exactly, but you can steer it. Add custom instructions like "include a summary sheet" or "add formulas for totals" and the agent plans the structure around them. It decides the final sheet and column layout so the workbook stays coherent.
Is the AI Spreadsheet Generator free?

What uses my free AI creations?
Generating flashcards, improving a flashcard deck, making a podcast, creating a video lecture or infographic, building slides, a spreadsheet, or a story book, making a mind map, study guide, or worksheet, having an AI Agent create a timeline, SOP, flowchart, lesson plan, or outline, running Deep Research, or processing a recording uses your free AI creation. It is a lifetime free credit and does not reset. AI Chat messages, quizzes, and exams still have separate daily limits; free file uploads are also lifetime credits.
Can I cancel anytime?
Absolutely. There are no contracts or commitments. You can cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings, and you'll keep access until the end of your billing period.
